1. Purpose

This SOP defines how the Sitemetric Customer Support team handles requests from AWS employees for access to Sitemetric data collected at AWS construction sites. It ensures such requests are fulfilled consistently, in accordance with AWS's General Contractor Agreement (GCA) and guidance from the Sitemetric legal team.

2. Scope

This procedure applies to all data access requests submitted by AWS employees for data collected at AWS sites monitored by Sitemetric. It does not apply to access requests from general contractors, subcontractors, or any non-AWS party; those follow the standard customer access procedures.

3. Background and Policy Basis

AWS maintains a General Contractor Agreement (GCA) with its general contractors which establishes that all data collected on AWS sites is owned by AWS. On this basis, and as confirmed by the Sitemetric legal team, verified AWS employees are entitled to access data for AWS sites. Customer Support shall grant such access per the GCA and per legal team direction, following the verification and scoping steps below.

4. Definitions
  • GCA — General Contractor Agreement: AWS's agreement with its general contractors establishing AWS ownership of all data collected on AWS sites.
  • GC — General Contractor engaged by AWS on an AWS site.
  • Site Data — All data collected by Sitemetric systems at a given site, including sensor, monitoring, and reporting data.
  • AWS Site — A construction site owned by or built for AWS and monitored by Sitemetric.
5. Procedure
  1. Receive the request. Log the access request in the support ticketing system, capturing requester name, email address, the specific site(s) requested (site ID and/or address), and the data or access level requested.
  2. Verify the requester. Confirm the request originates from a corporate AWS/Amazon email address (@amazon.com). Verification is completed by sending a reply-back confirmation to that address and receiving a response. Requests from personal email domains, GC domains, or unverifiable addresses must not be granted under this SOP.
  3. Confirm the site is an AWS site. Verify in Sitemetric records that the requested site is an AWS site (see the Site Owner column in the Customer App User Account Approvers Matrix). If site ownership is unclear, escalate per Section 6 before granting access.
  4. Scope the access. Grant access only to the specific site(s) named in the request. Do not grant portfolio-wide or multi-site access unless each site is individually named and confirmed as an AWS site.
  5. Grant access. Provision the account or data access per the GCA and standard provisioning steps. No additional approval from the site's GC is required, as data ownership rests with AWS under the GCA.
  6. Document. Record in the ticket: verification evidence (reply-back confirmation), site(s) confirmed, access granted, date, and the support agent who processed the request. Close the ticket only after all fields are complete.
6. Escalations and Exceptions

<aside>
⚠️

Escalate to the Sitemetric legal team, and do not grant access, when any of the following applies:

  • The requester cannot be verified against a corporate @amazon.com address.
  • Site ownership is unclear or the site cannot be confirmed as an AWS site.
  • The request seeks data beyond site data (e.g., other customers' data, Sitemetric internal data).
  • A GC or other party disputes AWS's entitlement to the data.
  • The request involves bulk export, deletion, or transfer of data rather than access.

7. Records and Review

All requests, verifications, grants, and escalations are retained in the support ticketing system per Sitemetric's data retention policy. This SOP is reviewed annually and upon any amendment to the AWS GCA or change in legal guidance.
